What is the date and time of Brew at the Zoo?
The event will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013.
General admission ticket holders will be admitted from 6 - 9 p.m.
An early admission ticket may be purchased for an additional fee and ticket holders will be admitted from 5 - 9 p.m.
All VIP ticket holders will be admitted from 5 - 9 p.m.
What is included?
General admission tickets include admission to the event, a complimentary Brew at the Zoo mug, free beer tastings, complimentary soda and water, animal demos, games, and live entertainment.
VIP tickets include all of the above as well as access to the VIP Brew Pub, located in the Picnic Pavilion. In this area VIP ticket holders will receive full pours of beer, complementary food, pub games, and additional animal demos as well as cover from the elements under the pavilion.
Will the Zoo be open?
Outside the event area, the buildings will be open until 6 p.m. and the grounds will be open until 8 p.m. The buildings in the event area will be closed.
Will there be animals at the event?
There will be scheduled animal demonstrations taking place in both the General Event Area and the VIP area. Great Cats Circle will be open until 8 p.m., with the lions and tigers out in the yards.
Please remember the welfare of the animal is our priority, so animal demonstrations may be canceled if it is in the best interest of the animal.

VIP ticket holders also receive early admission to the event.
Designated Driver Tickets

Designated driver tickets are limited and may sell out so purchase tickets early!

What is an Early Admission Ticket?
Early admission and VIP ticket holders will be given access to the general event site at 5 p.m.
What is a "Sober Driver" ticket?
Sober Driver tickets for designated drivers are available for $30. Tickets are limited and may sell out prior to the event date. Designated drivers must be 21-and-over. Designated drivers will not receive a complimentary mug and will not be allowed to consume alcohol at the event; however, designated drivers will receive a complimentary Brew at the Zoo water bottle. All ticket holders will receive complimentary soda and water.
Can I still purchase tickets at the gate if the event is sold out?
No. Brew at the Zoo is sold out and no tickets will be available on the night of the event.
Are concessions available?
Yes, food will be available for purchase. There will be a several food trucks as well as food carts. Credit cards are accepted at many, but not all of the food trucks. ATMs are located inside the Zoo at the Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant.
Complimentary soda and water will be available for all ticket holders.
Will the carousel be operating?
No, the carousel will be closed during the event. Please come back another day to enjoy the ride. Tickets are $3 each.
Is there a charge for parking?
Yes. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
Friends of the National Zoo encourages you to use public transportation and drink responsibly. To visit the Zoo by Metro, take the Red Line to the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan stop or the Cleveland Park stop. The Zoo entrance lies halfway between these stops, and both are a short walk from the Zoo.

Do I need photo ID?
Yes, photo ID is required. Guests and designated drivers must be 21-and-over. Individuals under 21 will not be admitted into the event site.
Can I receive a refund?
No, ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. The event will be held rain or shine.
What methods of payment will be accepted at the event?
Credit cards are accepted at many but not all of the food trucks. ATMs are located inside the Zoo at the Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant. Merchandise sales will accept cash or credit.
Can I buy Group Tickets?
Brew at the Zoo is a fundraising event and we do not offer group ticket rates. FONZ members may purchase up to four tickets at the member price. Please contact Pam Bucklinger to learn more about our corporate packages.

Where can I find out where my favorite brewery will be located at the event?
We will be releasing a Brew at the Zoo brewery map the week prior to the event. You can download this map by liking our Facebook page.

Will there be Brew at the Zoo Merchandise?
T-shirts and other Brew at the Zoo merchandise will be available at a merchandise table in the event area.
Where is the Event Located in the Zoo?
Brew at the Zoo will be located in the lower portion of the Zoo by Lion/Tiger Hill. Lion/Tiger Hill is about a 10 minute walk from the top of the zoo. There will be two registration locations; one will be by Lemur Island and the Carousel, the other will be at the bottom of the zoo by the clock tower across from the Harvard Street Bridge.
