Conservationists around the globe are plagued by the same question: "What can we do to help?" Here at the Smithsonian's National Zoo, we have an answer: drink beer.

Raise your glass to conservation and join FONZ at our annual Brew at the Zoo, where you can sample the best beers from more than 60 craft and microbreweries. The best part? Proceeds from this festive event go towards animal care and conservation at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and around the world. Now that's something worth toasting to.

Early Admission

Be among the first to quench your thirst at our many sweet, sweet breweries by purchasing an early admission upgrade! Early admission allows ticketholders access to the event one hour before it opens to the general public - 5 p.m.! VIP ticketholders will also enjoy this benefit. Don’t delay - only a small number of upgrades are available for purchase.

Tickets are available online via Ticketmaster and in person at the Zoo Visitor Center's Information Desk, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Not a member? Join now to get the member rate.

FONZ members may purchase up to four tickets at the member price. Sober driver tickets are also available for $30. Sober drivers will not receive a commemorative mug and will not be served beer. All but $25 of your ticket price is tax-deductible.

Parking & Transportation

FONZ encourages you to take public transportation and drink responsibly. The Zoo's Connecticut Avenue entrance is between the Red Line's Cleveland Park and Woodley Park Metro stops. Parking available for a fee.

Catch a ride to and from the Woodley Park/Zoo Metro Station, courtesy of Open Top Sightseeing. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes throughout the night.

Food Trucks

Drinking beer to save animals is hard work - ready yourself to continue your mission by stopping at some of the many amazing food trucks that will be on-site for the event! Credit cards are accepted at many, but not all of the food trucks. ATMs are located inside the Zoo at the Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant.

Live Entertainment by Gonzo's Nose

Head to the event stage where Washington D.C.'s premier party band, Gonzo's Nose, will be playing all your favorite hits!

Ride the Trolley Pub

The Trolley Pub will be on-site during the event, serving beer tastings and giving guests a chance to ride this ingenious contraption. Part machine, part awesome, the Trolley Pub is a pedal-powered, eco-friendly, pub-crawling trolley for up to 14 people at time.
