It’s Baaaaack. Join us at the Smithsonian's National Zoo for a wicked night of fun. With a live band, costume contest, and mind-boggling performance art—including fortune tellers, fire eaters, and illusionists, it is a Halloween party you won't want to miss.

Tickets will be available for purchase at least 6 weeks prior to the event date.

FONZ encourages you to take public transportation and drink responsibly.

The Fine Print

You must be at least 21 years old to attend this event. A valid ID is required for admission. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-replaceable. This is an adults-only event. Babies and children will not be admitted. Please drink responsibly. Smoking is not permitted at the Zoo. Night of the Living Zoo will be held rain or shine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be animals at the event?

There will be after-hours access to the Small Mammal House, Great Ape House, Reptile Discovery Center and Think Tank. Please remember the welfare of the animal is our priority, so animal demonstrations may be canceled if it is in the best interest of the animal.

Are concessions available?

Yes, food and beverages will be available for purchase. There will be a several food trucks as well as food carts. Credit cards are accepted at many, but not all of the food trucks. ATMs are located inside the Zoo at the Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant.

Where is the Event Located in the Zoo?

Night of the Living Zoo will be located in the middle portion of the Zoo between Small Mammal House and the Carousel. The Small Mammal House is about a 10 minute walk from the top of the zoo. There will be two registration locations; one will be by the Small Mammal House, the other will be at the bottom of the zoo by the clock tower across from the Harvard Street Bridge.
