Meet Panda Claws

In addition to nightly performances in the Snow Globe every half hour during ZooLights, Panda Claws, the ZooLights ambassador, will be making appearances at Giant Food stores in the region. Come say hello and get a coupon for free hot chocolate at ZooLights (coupons are limited). Here's the Panda Claws schedule of appearances:

    As a special thank you for your continued support of the National Zoo, FONZ is offering our neighbors a complimentary, special edition ZooLights mug. To receive your free mug, visit the Asia Trail Store and show your driver's license or District-issued I.D. with a 20008 or 20009 ZIP code. Note: Quantities are limited.
  • November 27—Military Night
    To show our appreciation for members of the armed forces, current and retired military personnel displaying a military ID will be able to park for the FONZ member parking rate of $9 rather than the nonmember rate of $16.
  • December 3—Giant Associate Night
  • December 10—Booz Allen Hamilton Night
    Bring your old holiday lights to be recycled, and stop by the Visitor Center to get Zoo gift shop purchases gift-wrapped (for a donation to FONZ) by Booz Allen Hamilton employees
  • December 11—GEICO/Washington Capitals Night and grand-prize winners and honorable mentions announced for Gin-GRR-Bread Contest in Visitor Center Auditorium at 6 p.m.
  • December 17—SunTrust Night
    Visit the Panda Gift Shop in Panda Plaza for a free gift for children, provided by SunTrust Bank. Note: Quantities are limited, and gifts are distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
  • December 22—YP (Young Professional) Night. Get into the holiday spirit at ZooLights, Powered by Pepco. Food trucks, Eat Wonky and DC Slices, will be selling and Port City Brewing will be providing one complimentary ale for each registered guest. Additional drinks can be purchased. The Zoo will be recycling old cell phones and holiday light strands and collecting lightly used winter gear for the Boys and Girls Club.

    Thanks so much for your interest in YP Night. Unfortunately, we are out of free beer. We hope you will still attend the event tonight. There will be plenty of beer (and other drinks) for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Zoo.

  • December 23—Visit Zoolights on December 23 and receive a free Coca-Cola white Arctic Home can while supplies last. Coca-Cola is working with World Wildlife Fund to raise awareness and funds to protect the polar bears' home.

Local school groups will be performing at venues around the Zoo during ZooLights. Most groups will perform at 7 and 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
