Get ready to Rock-N-Roar at Friends of the National Zoo’s annual outdoor concert featuring the popular band, The Fray. Bring your blanket but be ready to dance. You’ll also enjoy animal demonstrations, wine and beer vendors, all in the intimate setting of the Zoo. Proceeds benefit animal care and conservation at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.
Includes access to the main event, and much more.
Ticket holders receive exclusive access to the Whole Foods Market VIP Lounge where they will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and desserts catered by Whole Foods Market, private viewing of the great cats, complemintary parking, two drink tickets, and a commemorative Rock-N-Roar lanyard.
Topping the charts since 2005, The Fray is an unbeatable experience live. With home grown lyrics and keyboard rifts to rival Queen, The Fray are a classic band perfect for summer listening—and what better venue than the Zoo? The Fray will play their classic hits like ‘How To Save a Life’ as well as selections from their new album Helios, released in February. Don’t let this once a year concert go Over Your Head.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or low seated lawn chairs to enhance your experience. Food, non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine will be available for purchase at the Zoo throughout the concert. To be served alcohol, you must present a valid photo ID. Outside food and beverages will not be permitted.
FONZ encourages you to take public transportation and to drink responsibly. Take the Red Line to the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan stop of the Cleveland Park stop. The Zoo entrance lies halfway between these stops, and both are a short walk from the Zoo.
Companies interested in sponsoring the event will receive valuable recognition benefits, sampling opportunities, and complimentary tickets. For more information, email Jackie Vinick.
Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-replaceable. Please note that smoking is not permitted at the Zoo. Rock-N-Roar will be held rain or shine.
Yes, photo ID is required to buy alcohol.
Rock-N-Roar will be located in the lower portion of the Zoo by Lion/Tiger Hill. Lion/Tiger Hill is about a 10 minute walk from the top of the Zoo.
