Pandas lead solitary lives. Cubs and their mothers separate when the young are about a year and a half old.

Over the past several weeks, we gradually increased the time Tai and Mei spend apart. Everything went smoothly, and they are now living separately. We are pleased that both bears are adjusting so easily.
