New Animals

Banded Coral Shrimp

Sexy dancing, coral banded, peppermint, clown, and white spotted shrimp were recently added to the invertebrate collection. Long tentacle anemones, orange corals, hermit crabs, and conehead algae-eating snails are also now on exhibit. Come see them!

Coral gamete collecting equipment and techniques were modified and tested in Hawaii. Also, our staff is collaborating on a new experimental design to study coral in the field at a Smithsonian Institution research station in Belize.
