Kerinci is one of the two female Sumatran tigers
at the Zoo. She was found as a cub in the wild in
1984 and donated by Indonesia's Jakarta Zoo as part
of the Sumatran Tiger Species Survival Plan. She
has had seven young, including a daughter, Soy,
who still lives at the Zoo. Kerinci was named for
an active volcano and the highest mountain in Sumatra.
