Giant Pacific Octopus

Octopi use their eight arms to open prey such as small crabs, scallops, and snails. If it is unable to open it, the octopus releases salivary secretions that soften the shells of the prey. Check out the daily octopus feeding at the Invertebrate Exhibit.
