Animals Are Ready for Halloween

Keepers at the Small Mammal House and Asia Trail prepared pumpkins, icy treats, and other enrichment items for many of the animals that live at these exhibits, including small Madagascar hedgehog tenrecs, naked mole-rats, Prevost's squirrels, three-banded armadillos, prehensile-tailed porcupines, Asian small-clawed otters, and fishing cats. Enrichment activities provide physically and mentally stimulating environments to the animals that give them opportunities to use their natural abilities and behaviors.
