Minimum System Requirements

  • A 233 megahertz (MHz) processor, such as an Intel Pentium II or Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processor
  • 64 megabytes (MB)
  • 100 MB Free hard disk space
  • Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution
  • 256-color video card

Known Issues:

Mozilla Firefox
A recent upgrade to version 1.5.0.5 does not support the Zoo's web cams. Mozilla has fixed this issue with version 1.5.0.6.

Media Player does not zoom to 200%
This is a known issue for some browser versions.

Media Player does not show load time
During heavy trafffic times you may experience black in the viewing area. The player may take 3-5 seconds, depending on your connnection speed.

Netscape 6
The Nescape 6 browser is not supported. After upgrading your Netscape browser, Windows Media Player must be reinstalled.

Link issues when using MMS protocol
When using a Web browser, you may experience problems opening Web links to content that uses the Microsoft Media Server (MMS) protocol. You may need to manually enter the address to the content in Windows Media Player.

Issue playing files with a .wmd extension
The Player may not play all digital media files packaged in a Windows Media file with a .wmd extension.

Classic version of Windows Media Player launches
When using a Web browser to open links to content, the Classic version of Windows Media Player (Windows Media Player 7.01 for Mac or earlier) may launch. To fix the problem, do one or more of the following:

  • If you have Mac OS 9.1 or earlier installed in your Classic environment, install Mac OS 9.2 or later in your Classic environment.
  • Delete all Classic versions of Windows Media Player from all Classic environments on your computer.

Your proxy settings are configured incorrectly.
The HTTP settings in Windows Media Player have been changed after you installed Windows Media Player.

To resolve this issue, verify your proxy settings are configured correctly, and verify your HTTP transport settings in Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In Media Player, click Options on the View menu, and then click the Advanced tab.
  2. Click Streaming Media (Windows Media), and then click Change.
  3. Under Protocols, click the appropriate configuration under the HTTP check box. If you click Use proxy, then you can click Configure Proxy Settings to change your proxy settings. If you do not know the correct proxy settings for your network, contact your network administrator and ask for the proxy hostname and port number.
