Citizen Science

Nestwatch is a citizen-science program that provides an opportunity to be a biologist in your own backyard. It enables participants to help scientists solve critical questions regarding the survival of backyard bird populations while they learn more about these amazing creatures.

Current participants can enter data online, view summaries, find out which birds have been banded in their backyards, and download forms.

Nationwide Nestwatch

A nationwide Internet-based program created through a collaboration between the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. The website for this program will be the source for all registration information, program details, and nest data entry procedures.
