Research Focus
Current research focuses on bird populations as key biological indicators of ecological integrity following the introduction of West Nile Virus to New York in 1999. I use hierarchical modeling techniques to explicitly determine population effects of this virus in multiple avian species across the United States. Future work will include evaluating population and regional regenerative capabilities following large scale mortality.
