For Campers Entering Grades 4-5
Amazon Adventure
Spend a week in the rainforest and get face to face with some of the world's most intriguing creatures, including monkeys, frogs, and giant fish. Go high in the canopy and then down to the forest floor and river on a wild adventure you'll never forget.

Junior Zoologist
Take on the role of a young research scientist and perform some of the same experiments as our Zoo scientists. Meet a few of these animal experts and discover what it takes to become a great zoologist.

Animal Behavior 101
Elephants, sea lions, and many other animals receive special instruction from their keepers. Take a seat in the animals' "classroom" and discover the ins and outs of animal training and enrichment.

Wildlife Conservation
The National Zoo is a leader in saving endangered species including giant pandas, Asian elephants, and clouded leopards. Meet experts in the field of animal science and species survival, and discover the important work they do. Plus, find out how you can protect wildlife at home.

Down by the Bay
The Chesapeake Bay is one of the region's biggest natural resources. Learn about its many residents, from blue crabs to the occasional manatee, and how you can help keep the bay healthy. Meet the Zoo's bay creatures and take a field trip to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center on the Bay.

Zoo MD
Imagine what it takes to care for a toothy tiger, or slimy salamander. How do you X-ray a stingray or give a shot to a shrew? Zoo veterinarians have one of the toughest jobs around. Visit the Zoo's animal hospital and meet the vets that care for our 400 different species of animals right here at the National Zoo. Scrubs are optional.

Livin' la Cheetah Loca
Find out about the fast, fantastico felines at the National Zoo. Learn to spot the cheetah's amazing adaptations and lifestyle. This class will take you from zero to 45 in less than three seconds. Sign up now before spaces run out.

Junior Marine Biologist
From seals to otters to octopodes and crabs, marine biologists dive in to investigate. Discover the Zoo's bubbliest animals and meet some of the experts who are keeping them afloat in the Zoo and around the world.

Zoo Tube
Learn about arthropods and tripods, shot lists and conservationists. Put a small mammal on the big screen! In this class, learn some of the introductory elements to movie making and wildlife conservation while making your own doc-zoo-mentary. Conclude the final class with a screening of your work. Cameras will be provided but there will be a $50 equipment fee.

Superman-imals
With capes, super strength, disguises, and binocular vision, animals have amazing powers. Learn all about the superheroes (and villains) of the animal world.
