A Wild Nature Exploration for Children in Grades K-5

Just because it's winter, it doesn't mean you need to hibernate—the National Zoo's animals are ready to romp and we are ready for you!
Snow Safari campers will explore the lives, habitats, and conservation of animals around the world. Each four-day session includes exciting hands-on activities, craft projects, science experiments, and walks through the Zoo. (Please note: There is never direct contact with the animals.)
There's "snow" doubt about it! Snow Safari Day camp is the coolest way to spend your winter vacation!

General Information

Ages: Campers are grouped into two grade levels: K-1 and 2-5. Snow Safari is not offered at the pre-K level. Children may only be registered for their current grade level.

Dates/Times: Snow Safari Day Camp typically runs in December and January.

Where: All classes are held in the Visitor Center classrooms. Please pick up campers in parking lot A. Campers in After-Camp Care must be picked up in the Visitor Center classrooms.

Fees: Snow Safari registration is open now for members and non-members!

CAMP SESSION: $300 members/$350 non-members

NEW!BEFORE-CAMP CARE: $75

AFTER-CAMP CARE: $140

Before-Camp Care is held in the Visitor Center auditorium from 8-8:45 a.m. After-Camp Care is held in the Visitor Center classrooms from 3-6 p.m. An additional fee will be charged at 6 p.m.

About Registration
With our registration system, all participants must have an online account. You will need your FONZ member ID number during the process to receive the member discount. This system enables you to register multiple children at once, view your account online, and make payments. Also, non-members can join FONZ during the registration process.

Cancellation and Transfer Policies:
Cancellation requests received at least four weeks prior to the start of the session will receive a 75-percent refund. Transfer requests received at least four weeks prior to the start of the session will be charged a 10-percent administrative fee.
Please email the FONZ Snow Safari Office with cancellation and transfer requests. No refunds or changes will be made for less than four weeks notice.
