Speakers' Bureau

One of the many benefits of being a Biodiversity Monitoring partner is having access not only to scientific protocols and techniques, but also to Smithsonian scientists. Our scientists are dedicated to helping mentoScientist with studentsr the next generation of scientists. One way our scientists are able to contribute is by speaking to groups of students either at a school or during one of our Student Symposia.

If your school is a BMP partner and is interested in having a scientist come visit to share his research and listen and provide feedback to students' research, please contact the Education Office. Our staff will try to pair a scientist with the needs of a particular school. If we have several schools interested in a scientist with a particular background (such as ornithology or entomology), we will try to host a student symposium where one or more scientists will talk to students.

There is a fee of $120 per day to cover the honorarium for the scientist. This includes classroom lectures, career days, special events, and more.

To take advantage of opportunity, contact the Education Office at ""540.635.6540 or Email .
