Converting Plotter Data from .txt to .xls
1) Open your data in Microsoft Word™
2) Under Edit Menu, click Replace (Ctrl+H), then expand the
Find and Replace menu by clicking on the
option.

3) Replace all ], with ^p (paragraph mark) and click "Replace All". Then Click "OK."
4) Close the menu by clicking on the "X" in the top right corner of the menu box.
5) Save as "modified.txt"
6) Close the Microsoft Word™ document and open Microsoft Excel™
7) Go to "File" in the toolbar and click "open". Select and open "modified.txt" in Excel™.

8) Choose delimited original data type and click "Next".

9) Click the following delimiter boxes: comma, space, other and type in [
10) Check "Treat consecutive delimiters as one" box and then click "Next."

11) Click on the first column until it is highlighted in black. Then click "Do not import column (skip)" from the Column Data Format box in the top right corner of the menu.
12) Repeat the above process with each of the following columns (all the columns with a # sign in front of the text): second column, fourth column, sixth column, eighth column, tenth column, twelfth column, and fourteenth column.
13) Then click Finish.
14) Insert a row at the top of the sheet above the data line. Put data labels for each column in the inserted row as follows: A1. "Quadrant", B1. "Tree Number", C1. "Tree ID", D1. "DBH", E1. "X-axis", F1. "Y-axis", and G1. "Description"
15) Save as " .xls" document.
