Forest Plotter

A computer application that allows schools to manage data obtained from a Biodiversity Monitoring Project plot.

Data on trees within a one-hectare (100 meters by 100 meters square) plot are entered using x/y coordinates, and includes species and size of each tree.

Once the data are entered in the Forest Plotter program, schools can generate plot maps and simple statistics on the plot, which allows students to easily see patterns in their data.

See box to right to download.

Sharing Data

Schools are encouraged to download data from other partners to compare results and to experience different habitats, flora, and fauna.

Compressed (.zip) data files can be downloaded from the box to the right, site descriptions of the schools are also available.
