The birth of a lion cub at the National Zoo is a joyous event! Please help us celebrate by sharing your lesson plans related to lions, lion births, lion cubs, prides, or any other related topic. We will post the best lesson plans on this site for other teachers to view and adapt for their classrooms.
We are starting with lesson plans from Christine Payack, a master teacher from Fairfax County Public Schools (Virginia), who attended the Zoo’s Teacher Boot Camp this summer. Her second-grade lesson plans, 
Proud to Be a Lion, are aligned with state standards and include recommended readings and resources.
