Complete List of Reciprocating Zoos and Aquariums

One of the great benefits of being a FONZ member is free or discounted admission to other reciprocating zoos and aquariums, and in some cases, discounts in their shops.

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums sponsors a Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP), in which the National Zoo participates. Under this program, participating zoos and aquariums agree to grant free or discounted admission to current members of other participating institutions. RAP covers admission to the main facility on normal operating days and hours but may exclude exhibits or events requiring an additional fee. The number of visitors admitted with a family membership may vary depending on the zoo or aquarium, and the maximum age of children so admitted may also differ. Participating institutions may treat membership categories, parking fees, guest privileges, and gift shop-discounts differently.

In addition to RAP participants, other zoos and aquariums offer admission and other discounts to members of other institutions on a case-by-case basis.

The zoos and aquariums listed below offer special privileges to current FONZ members in 2013. These institutions offer reciprocating benefits that may include discounted admission or other special discounts. However, it is important to note that such arrangements are subject to change. You should always call ahead to confirm this information before you travel. Phone numbers and links to websites are provided for your convenience. When visiting these institutions, always have your FONZ membership card and an ID. If you encounter any difficulties in receiving reciprocal benefits, please advise the FONZ Membership Office at 202.633.3042.

Visitors to the National Zoo who are current members of one of these reciprocating zoos or aquariums receive 10% off purchases at National Zoo gift shops on the grounds of the Zoo. This discount does not apply to items on sale.
