National Zoo's Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat and Asia Trail Set to Open Oct. 17
The public opening for the National Zoo's Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat and Asia Trail has been changed to Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 8:30 a.m.
Zoo management decided that the animals need more time to adjust to their new surroundings, and staff needs more time to ensure that the new animal habitats are functional and safe. This adjustment period is crucial to good animal care and management, as well as staff and visitor safety.
A preview for the news media has been tentatively set for Wednesday, Oct. 11. Advisory to follow.
