Smithsonian Zoogoermagazine is our flagship educational publication
for FONZ members and general audiences. It is published
six times a year. Smithsonian Zoogoer's lively articles
cover wildlife research and conservation as well as
natural history and other subjects related to the natural
world. Articles are lavishly illustrated with color
photography. Full-text articles are available online.
Smithsonian Zoogoer is a benefit of FONZ membership. Those who live outside of a 200-mile radius of Washington, D.C., can join FONZ at the Zoogoer level. The current issue of Smithsonian Zoogoer is also available for purchase at the Zoo.
Scientific Publications
Each year, National Zoo staff collectively produce
more than 100 scientific publications, as well as publications
for popular audiences on their scientific results. A
complete bibliography is available online,
with links to full text, when available.
