Track Shanthi, an Asian Elephant at the National Zoo

Explore how the Partners in the Sky program works by tracking an animal it's pretty easy to find: Shanthi, one of the elephants who lives at the National Zoo!

Shanthi wears a collar just like the ones scientists use to track elephants in the wild. Check out the map to follow her movements throughout our Elephant Trails exhibit.

Soon, you'll be able to track Shanthi at the Zoo online here and in an “Animal Trax” module, which will beintegrated into the Zoo’s app in early 2014.

Real-time tracking is not yet live, but will be soon! When it is, the maps will look like this:
