Asia Trail
We are not accepting applications for this program at this time.
The Zoo's Asia Trail is home to sloth bears, fishing cats, red pandas, a Japanese giant salamander, Asian small-clawed otters, clouded leopards, and our giant pandas, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian.
Volunteers share with visitors the natural history and conservation status of all of these species, explain the Zoo's management, and help raise awareness about research being conducted to study and conserve these animals. They enhance visitor experience by interacting with individuals, answering questions, and providing animal artifacts to handle.
Special qualifications: A strong interest in the animals on Asia Trail, good communication skills, and the flexibility to be outdoors in a variety of Washington weather conditions.
Time commitment: Three three-hour shifts a month (10 a.m.–1 p.m. or 1–4 p.m.) for a year, monthly meetings, and support of exhibit-related special events.
Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Training: Training will not be conducted in 2012.
