American Trail
We are not accepting applications for this program at this time but please check back soon!
Our newest exhibit opening in Summer 2012. American trail volunteers interpret a variety of North American animals. Bald eagles, ravens, beavers, gray wolves, seals, sea lions, and the irrepressible river otters ensure many opportunities to talk about the continent's species and the conservation of our wildlife and habitats. Interpreters present specific activities as well as interact with visitors in a conversational manner.
Special qualifications: A strong interest in North American animals, a willingness to share knowledge with Zoo visitors, and to be outside in the extremes of Washington’s summer.
Time commitment: Three three-hour shifts a month from April through November, and monthly meetings.
Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Training: Training is expected in May/June 2012.
