Invertebrate Exhibit
We are not accepting applications for this program at this time.
Invertebrate Exhibit interpreters help Zoo visitors explore the complex, fascinating world of invertebrates: corals and crabs, ants and anemones, seastars and spiders. Volunteers interact with visitors conversationally, help them enjoy interactive exhibits, conduct feeding demonstrations, and carry hissing cockroaches to help visitors gain a greater appreciation of these creatures. Interpreters also staff the Pollinarium, a greenhouse with plants, butterflies, and bees, where displays and graphics explore the mechanism of plant reproduction by pollination.
Special qualifications: A strong interest in invertebrates, good communication skills, and a sense of adventure.
Time commitment: Three three-hour shifts a month for a year, monthly meetings, and support of exhibit-related special events.
Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Training: Training in 2012 is yet to be determined.
