Human Resources Intern

The FONZ Human Resources department is responsible for employment, benefits, employee relations, and other duties associated with personnel.

The Human Resources Internship is available for spring, summer, and fall.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the director of human resources, recruiter, and HR coordinator with daily office operations.
  • Attend and assist with job fairs and orientations.
  • Update and maintain personnel files.
  • Respond to employees and applicants inquiries.
  • Track, log, and sort resumes/applications.
  • Update and make employee ID badges and distribute when necessary.
  • Track the employee referral program.
  • Assist with the administration of benefits.
  • Update and maintain current personnel forms and materials and distribute when necessary.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

Requirements
 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, or recent graduate.
  • Interest in the field of Human Resource Management.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and organizational skills.
  • Must enjoy working outdoors, and be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Dates
Up to 12 weeks. Session to be determined by intern and supervisor.

Pay
Competitive hourly wage.

Lodging
 Students must make their own arrangements in the Washington, D.C., area.
