New menus coming soon!

FONZ Food Service offers meals and snacks to suit every appetite, with meal menus ranging from burgers, hot dogs, and pizzas to grilled chicken sandwiches, made-to-order subs, and salads, as well as snack foods like frozen treats and hot pretzels. Food concessions include:

  • Mane Grill, near Lion/Tiger Hill
  • Panda Plaza Grill, near the bus lot and Panda Gift Shop
    (Will be closed May 1-5, 2012)
  • Panda Café, overlooking the Giant Panda Habitat
  • Popstop, near the Small Mammal House
    (Will be closed May 16-20, 2012)
  • Reptile Kiosk—Brats, BBQ, and Beer, near the Reptile Discovery Center
  • Venues throughout the Zoo

Snack stands and hot dog stands (open seasonally) are scattered throughout the park, as are soda, water, and snack vending machines. There are also popcorn wagons at Panda Plaza and near the Mane Restaurant, and an ice cream kiosk next to the Reptile Discovery Center.

Bring Your Own Picnic

Visitors may bring their own food and beverages. Coolers are permitted but not grills or other cooking devices. There are picnic areas throughout the Zoo, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shopping

National Zoo Stores are located in Panda Plaza, Lion/Tiger Hill, and the Visitor Center. You may also shop at our NationalZoo Store Online.

Amenities

Strollers are available to rent; ask at any information kiosk throughout the park for location. (FONZ members at the Household level and above receive a discount on stroller rentals.)

ATMs are located at the Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant.

Souvenir Zoo maps are available at the Visitor Center and information kiosks throughout the park for $2.

Public restrooms are located in Panda Plaza, next to the Zoo Police Station, inside the Visitor Center, at the Elephant Outpost, and inside Amazonia.

There are no lockers or other storage facilities for visitors at the National Zoo.

The Zoo does not have a kennel where visitors may leave pets during their visit. Pets are not permitted in the Zoo (except for assistance animals) and leaving your pet unattended in your vehicle is strongly discouraged.
