by Russell Greenberg

Cost: $5.00

Description:
This illustrated, bilingual booklet provides an introduction to the intriguing lives of birds that journey annually to and from Costa Rica and Panama.

Excerpt:
Miconia trees dot the Central American countryside with their leaves waving gold and green in the trade winds. Hidden by the leaves are massive bunches of tiny purple berries, which attract flocks of birds. Common visitors include Bay-breasted Warblers (Dendroica castanea), molting into their nuptial colors of chocolate brown and buff, flocks of Red-eyed Vireos (Vireo olivaceus), an occasional Swainson's Thrush (Catharus ustulatus), Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea), or Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher (Myiodynastes luteiventris) all winging their way north from the Amazon Basin.
