One of the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center's "Bird Friendly®" certified shade farms in Colombia, Agropecuraria Berlin Ltda., has sealed a deal with Japanese importer Sumitomo Corporation to get its coffee into the Japanese market.
This coffee, produced in Colombia's northern region of Santa Marta, will find its way into coffee shops from Kyoto to Hokkaido, providing coffee drinkers with a quality coffee and a certified connection to migratory bird conservation.
This bag design displays well the international aspects of coffee, with certification marks from the United State's OCIA organic certification agency, Japan's organic standards office (JAS), and the shade certification of "Bird Friendly®" from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. And it comes from the northern reaches of Colombia.
