Every year, some two million people visit the Smithsonian's National Zoo. Many of these visitors are youngsters having their very first experience with animals and nature right within our gates! This initial exposure can be the basis for a lifelong interest in conservation, which is a great passion to encourage in future leaders. To playfully encourage and foster enthusiasm for the natural world, we have cooked up a "tasty" idea . . .
Designed for children three to eight, the Pizza Playground at Kids' Farm draws youngsters to the Zoo's critical mission in a fun, inventive way. They can learn where food comes from as they crawl, climb, and run through the Zoo's giant Pizza Playground. Here, conservation concepts are reinforced through hands-on play.
To make our playground super deluxe, we need to raise $305,000. Of the numerous families that visit the Zoo, many with young children head straight to the Pizza Playground. We'd like to continue to give these parents the opportunity to relax and their children the chance to explore new concepts at the Pizza Playground. Donate now and help promote children's interests in conservation. With your support, we can add slides, a simulated farmer's garden, rubber play surfaces, and shade structures!
As a special thanks to those who join the Pizza Party with a donation of $100 or more, they will be invited to an exclusive VIP pizza party event when the renovations to the playground has been completed! This is one party you won't want to miss!
Don't delay! Help instill the values of conservation in the future generation. Save the Pizza Playground by donating now!
