Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on September 16 for members, and at 10 a.m. on September 23 for non-members.

Prepare to witness death defying acts and amazing oddities at Friends of the National Zoo's annual adults-only Halloween party, Night of the Living Zoo. Ghouls and goblins will enjoy live music from DJ Squirrel spinning Halloween hits, craft beer, fair from popular DC food trucks, a spooktacular costume contest, and performance artists. It's a wicked night of fun that would be scary to miss!

You must be at least 21-years-old to attend Night of the Living Zoo. A valid ID is required for admission. Babies and children will not be admitted.

General Admission Tickets

  • $20 for Members
  • $30 for Non-members

Tickets include a dance party with DJ Squirrel, live entertainment, after-hours access to animal houses, animal experiences and complimentary soda and water.

 

VIP Tickets

  • $55 for Members
  • $85 for Non-members

VIP Tickets include all general admission attractions, and private access to the VIP bar and lounge, dance party with DJ Bulldog, complimentary food tastings from DC restaurants, exclusive animal demonstrations.

 

At the Gate Sales

  • $25 General Admission for Members
  • $35 General Admission for Non-Members
  • $60 VIP for Members
  • $85 VIP for Non-Members

We encourage you to drink responsibly and take public transportation.

Parking

Only the Connecticut Avenue entrance will be open for vehicles. Please note, only guests with a parking pass will be permitted to enter the Zoo gates with their vehicle.

Metro

The Zoo is accessible via the Red Line to the Woodley Park-Zoo or Cleveland Park metro station. The Zoo entrance lies halfway between these stops, and both are a short walk from the Zoo.

Uber

Uber is the preferred ride of Night of the Living Zoo. Don't worry about driving—get a safe, affordable ride to and from the Zoo at the tap of a button.

Please Note: Beach Drive will be closed as part of the National Park Service's Beach Drive rehabilitation project. Those driving to the event are encouraged to avoid Rock Creek Parkway when traveling to the Zoo. Additionally information can be found on the NPS Website.

Get creative. FONZ is hosting its annual Day of the Dead Altar, or Spooky Halloween Scene Contest. Besides bragging rights, there will be great prizes including a cocktail party or breakfast for ten (10) at the Zoo with a special behind-the-scenes tour for you and your guests.

In the interest of safety, the following items are prohibited:

  • Weapons, and weapon-like items (hatchets, swords, baseball bats, etc.)
  • Balloons

Food will be available to purchase at food trucks and Zoo restaurants throughout the event.

Credit cards are accepted at most food trucks, but not all. ATMs are located inside the Zoo's Visitor Center and Mane Restaurant.

Smoking is not permitted on Zoo grounds.

Night of the Living Zoo is held rain or shine.

Ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges. Tickets will be accepted only on the date for which they are purchased.
