Adopt a Sumatran Tiger

Support Animals at the National Zoo

Sumatran tigers are on the brink of extinction. There are fewer than 500 left in the wild. The Smithsonian's National Zoo is committed to the survival of the Sumatran tiger. Through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Tiger Species Survival Plan, the Zoo is helping to maintain genetic diversity in the captive Sumatran tiger population, which serves as an insurance policy for the future of the subspecies.

Adopt a Sumatran tiger and help support Friends of the National Zoo and the Smithsonian's National Zoo in their mission to save species.
