× The Zoo is open! Entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. All visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear a mask in all indoor spaces at the Zoo, regardless of their vaccination status. Fully vaccinated visitors do not need to wear a mask in outdoor areas.

Vote to Name the New Calf!

Kids' Farm has a new Holstein calf, and we need your help to name her! Born in September at South Mountain Creamery in Middletown, Maryland, she's now 8 months old and ready to join Rose, the Zoo's 15-year-old female Hereford heifer, in the barnyard. Vote for your favorite name from the choices below.

Voting begins on May 11 and ends on Sunday, May 13. The winning name will be announced on the Zoo’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts Monday, May 14, when the calf makes her public debut.

Cattle are important domesticated animals that provide meat and milk. Kids' Farm is home to a 16-year-old polled Hereford heifer named Rose and a Holstein calf named Magnolia.
