Winter Wild: Primary

Sumatran tiger looking at camera

Winter Wild is the third series in the 2018-2019 Zoo Homeschool curriculum exploring "Amazing Animal Adaptations." Each series is a detailed exploration of a major category of animal adaptation and how various species have evolved different expressions of this adaptation to help them survive. Students may register for individual series or for the entire curriculum.

Winter Wild: You don't have to have ice in your veins to survive the winter, but some animals actually do! We'll discover the amazing strategies that animals have evolved to survive in cold weather, from diapause to disguise and everything in between.

Class will meet once a week for five weeks.

The "primary" section of Winter Wild is appropriate for ages 5-8 and is a drop-off program. Children do not have to be independent readers and writers to enjoy class activities.
