Zoo-cial Networks: Primary

giant panda

Zoo-cial Networks is the fourth series in the 2018-2019 Zoo Homeschool curriculum exploring "Amazing Animal Adaptations." Each series is a detailed exploration of a major category of animal adaptation and how various species have evolved different expressions of this adaptation to help them survive. Students may register for individual series or for the entire curriculum.

Zoo-cial Networks: One of a kind, part of a pack, queen of a colony? Animal social structures reveal much more than just who's responsible for finding dinner. We'll explore how a species' social strategy intersects with its biology and its ecosystem niche, from mobs of meerkats to solitary pandas.

Class will meet once a week for five weeks.

The "primary" section of Zoo-cial Networks is appropriate for ages 5-8 and is a drop-off program. Children do not have to be independent readers and writers to enjoy class activities.
