Preschool Classes

All Smithsonian museums, including the National Zoo, continue to be closed to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. Upcoming classes are canceled through June 1, and full refunds have been provided. We hope to see you for our summer classes, please check back in May for more information!

FONZ early learning classes are designed to help young children and their caretakers discover a whole new view of the Smithsonian's National Zoo. These aren't your average mommy and me programs!

Preschool classes engage your little animal lover in 90 minutes of animal and STEM-based fun. Interactive learning stations, hands-on activities and crafts, Nature Play, and exciting Zoo walks engage your child’s sense of wonder and curiosity about wildlife and the natural world — and teach you something new about animals as well. Classes for children ages 2-6 are offered as one-day weekend classes or as weekly, themed series (Nature Cubs).

Looking for something new to do with your baby or toddler? Join us on Thursday and Friday mornings for Zoo Tunes, a 45-minute music and movement program for ages 0-2.
