Beginning Jan. 18, 2022, the Zoo is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. All visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear a mask in all indoor spaces at the Zoo, regardless of their vaccination status. Fully vaccinated visitors do not need to wear a mask in outdoor areas. Select animal buildings remain closed.

Entry Passes (Tickets)

The Zoo is free, but entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. All visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear a mask in all indoor spaces at the Zoo, regardless of their vaccination status. Fully vaccinated visitors do not need to wear a mask in outdoor areas. Beginning Jan. 22, visitors must show proof of vaccination to dine inside the Zoo's Mane Grill restaurant.

Admission to the Zoo is free, but entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. Passes open on a rolling basis, one month out. If you're looking for passes for a specific date, check back 30 days before your intended visit.

Option 1: Free Daily Entry Pass (walking into the Zoo)

If you walk, bike, taxi or take public transportation, you must have a daily entry pass for each person in your group.

  • All guests, including infants, must have a pass
  • Entry anytime from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Zoo closes 3 p.m.)
  • Limited to six passes per reservation

Pedestrians may access the Zoo via the Connecticut Avenue or Harvard Street Bridge entrances.

NOTE: If you choose a Paid Parking Pass (option 2), you do not need daily entry passes for your group.

Option 2: Paid Parking Pass (parking at the Zoo)

If you drive and park at the Zoo, your Paid Parking Pass covers entry for everyone in your personal vehicle. You do not need to reserve daily entry passes for your group.

  • $30 per car
  • One pass per vehicle, covers all occupants
  • Entry anytime from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Zoo closes at 3 p.m.)
  • If additional parking spots become available, passes are released in Etix same day at 7 a.m.
  • Members: If you do not see a Membership Passes w/ Free Parking option, then all free passes have been reserved for that day. Please check another date.

All personal vehicles must enter the Zoo at the Connecticut Avenue entrance (3001 Connecticut Ave, NW).

Member Parking

  • A limited number of free parking passes are available each day on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If you do not see a Membership Passes w/ Free Parking option after selecting a date from the calendar, then all free passes for that date have been reserved.
    • $30 parking passes may be available. Members who elect to pay for parking will not receive a reimbursement.
  • Members can reserve one free parking pass per week.
  • Your member ID number is required when reserving your parking pass.
  • New passes are released one month in advance. If you're looking for passes for a specific date, please check back 30 days before your intended visit.

Yes, admission to the Zoo is free for walk-in entry. All guests, including infants, must reserve entry passes online before visiting. If you plan to drive and park at the Zoo, you'll need to reserve a paid parking pass.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. At least one adult chaperone is required to accompany up to five children.

No. When you arrive at the Zoo in your personal vehicle, you will be directed to the Bus Lot. From there, a parking attendant will check your ticket, make sure each person in your vehicle has a face covering, and direct you to available parking.

You are welcome to stay until the Zoo closes at 3 p.m. If you leave the park and want to return, you will need a hand stamp from the Visitor Center near the Connecticut Avenue entrance or from the Harvard Street pedestrian entry tent at the bottom of the Zoo.

If you have passes that you can no longer use, we encourage you to call Etix and request a cancellation to free up tickets for other guests. Refunds for paid parking passes are available until the day of your reservation; same-day parking refunds are not available. To cancel an entry pass or request a parking pass refund, call Etix at 1-800-514-3849 ext. 1.

If you can no longer visit the Zoo on the date of your entry pass, you can cancel your passes for that day and request new passes for a different day.

If you have a parking pass, you can request a refund from the ticket provider up until the day of your visit; same-day parking refunds are not available.
