Biography
Ziad Ojakli served as Executive Vice President of Government Operations at The Boeing Company from 2021-2025. Ojakli reported to Boeing’s President & CEO and was responsible for advancing the company’s public policy priorities, including all U.S. federal, state and local government operations, as well as Boeing Global Engagement, the company’s global philanthropic organization. He served as Boeing’s chief lobbyist and was a member of the company’s Executive Council.
Prior to joining Boeing, Ojakli was the Senior Vice President and Managing Partner of Global Government Affairs at SoftBank Group from 2018 to 2020. He created and led the company's first global government affairs operation. Ojakli managed all legislative, regulatory and political matters for the company, including providing strategic counsel and support to 35+ portfolio companies.
From 2004-2018, Ojakli served as Group Vice President at Ford Motor Company, leading a global team that amplified the company's core business objectives and managed interactions with governments in 110 markets around the world. In that role, he also directed Ford's philanthropic arm, and was a member of Ford’s leadership team.
Prior to that, Ojakli served in the White House from 2001 to 2004 as principal deputy for legislative affairs for President George W. Bush. He oversaw a team that developed strategy and worked to secure passage of the President’s agenda in the U.S. Senate.
Earlier, Ojakli was chief of staff and policy director to Republican Conference Secretary Senator Paul Coverdell and held several additional U.S. House and Senate policy and legislative positions.
Ojakli is a board member of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, the National Archives Foundation, the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., the Gridiron Club, a member of the James Madison Council at the Library of Congress and a member of the board of governors of Ford’s Theatre. He is also the former chair and a current member of the board of the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.
Ojakli has a bachelor's degree in American government from Georgetown University.
