Admission is free, but entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. Visitors must follow safety measures. Free Asia Trail/Panda Passes are required for giant panda viewing and can be reserved at the Zoo during your visit. For the safety of visitors, staff and animals, a very limited number of Panda Passes are available each day.

The Smithsonian's National Zoo is free to visit. In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), new safety procedures and guidelines are in place to provide a safe and great experience for visitors, staff and animals, including:
Entry Passes: All guests must reserve entry passes before visiting the Zoo. Learn more about entry pass options.
Face Coverings: Visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear a face covering in all indoor spaces. Fully vaccinated visitors are not required to wear a face covering outdoors. Face coverings may be removed while eating or drinking.
Social Distancing: Signs and markers throughout the park will help you follow safety guidelines and remind you to practice social distancing.
