How to Register

All programs listed in Eastern Time and are free, but registration is required for virtual programs. If you do not receive a confirmation email after registering for a virtual program, contact nzp-education@si.edu.   

Conservation Classroom

Conservation Classroom is a collection of monthly lessons for K-5 students and includes a virtual program. Each lesson has four elements: wonder, engage, act and connect. To register, click "Sign Up" next to the program of your choosing. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to all four elements, along with Zoom webinar link needed to join the program. You may share this link with your students, if they are joining from separate devices.

NHSA & Zoo in The Classroom

Join the National Zoo and National Head Start Association (NHSA) for interactive Pre-K virtual programs and "Get a Head Start with the Smithsonian." These programs bring together resources from seven Smithsonian museum to support initiative and curiosity, language and communication, and exploration and discovery. To register, click on the "NHSA" program of your choosing, then click the Zoom link under registration. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom webinar link needed to join the program. 

Little Critters: Nature Play

Bring your little zoogoer for a wild time exploring animals and nature through creative, drop-in play. This program occurs on-site, is designed for ages 0-5 plus their adults, and no registration is required.
