About Get A Head Start With the Smithsonian
"Get a Head Start with the Smithsonian" brings Smithsonian treasures and teaching practices into early childhood classrooms nationwide. Its innovative, play-based approach gives children unique access to the Smithsonian from anywhere in the world and builds powerful connections to inspire learning.
Get a Head Start with the Smithsonian connects classrooms with museums across the Smithsonian, including science, art, engineering, history, and civics collections, to create true early STEAM learning. Live virtual field trips to the Zoo are paired with wrap-around classroom activities that support evergreen Pre-K themes, and engaging professional development modules bring the best of Smithsonian early learning to the early childhood community.
