The Zoo will be closed Saturday, Jan. 29, due to winter weather.

The Zoo is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry passes are required for all guests, including infants. All visitors ages 2 and older are required to wear a mask in all indoor spaces at the Zoo, regardless of their vaccination status. Fully vaccinated visitors do not need to wear a mask in outdoor areas. Select animal buildings remain closed.

Twin Fishing Cats Born At The National Zoo: A First June 17, 2013

This week we have started letting our keeper aides meet the fishing cat kitten—as you can see, Electra's pretty relaxed about the whole process, but is definitely keeping an eye on things. In this photo, Electra actually brought the kitten up to the mesh and deposited it there for social time! The kitten is a month old today and weighs almost exactly two pounds.
