Amazing Adaptations: A Live Animal Program with The Maryland Zoo

  • Parrot

You might have seen all the animals at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo—but as a Friends of the National Zoo member, you have an exclusive opportunity to see some animals you may not have met before.

On Saturday, April 14, FONZ members can bring the family to “Amazing Adaptations: A Live Animal Program with The Maryland Zoo,” held at the Smithsonian's National Zoo’s Visitor Center Auditorium. The Maryland Zoo will host two animal presentations, educating FONZ members about some of the charismatic species in their collection.*

You can choose from two sessions: 9 to 10 a.m. or 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. These small group presentations can only host 100 people, so you’ll want to purchase tickets as soon as possible!

Meet animals in person and discover some of the amazing adaptations animals have for surviving life in the wild. It’s also a great way to learn about how Association of Zoos & Aquariums institutions collaborate to support conservation and save species.

Tickets are $3 per guest. Every guest, regardless of age, needs to have a ticket for this event. All tickets must be purchased online, as no tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the event.

We’ll see you at the Zoo’s Visitor Center on Saturday, April 14!

*Note: The Maryland Zoo will determine which species will visit on the day of the event. The animal shown in the picture above may not represent the animals that will visit the Zoo on April 14.
