Go Behind the Scenes at the June Member Celebration

  • June Member Celebration

Note: Registration for the June Member Celebration is now closed.

Friends of the National Zoo members get plenty of perks, from free parking to free Zoo rides. During FONZ's June Member Celebration, members get a unique opportunity: the ability to visit the Zoo's Research Hill, where Smithsonian scientists will be on hand to provide a stunning peek behind the curtain at the Zoo's conservation work.

This year's June Member Celebration takes place from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. For two hours, American Trail will be open exclusively to members and their families, who can see feedings, animal demonstrations and keeper chats, and take a look behind the scenes.

Shuttles will also take members up to Research Hill, where they can talk to the scientists on the cutting edge of conservation. Research Hill is usually closed to the public, so this is a rare opportunity!

This member-only event is free to attend, but you need to RSVP in advance. Registration opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, and is limited to six tickets per member account. Registration typically fills up within hours, so be sure to sign up early to reserve your spot.

Not a FONZ member? Join today and you can attend the celebration!
