Reciprocating Zoos

Please 'bear' with us as we work quickly to build the new Smithsonian National Zoo Membership program! Membership purchases and member renewals will be available online soon.

Questions? Please see the Membership FAQs page for details.

If you would like to speak with someone, please email us at ZooMembership@si.edu or call 202-633-2922. Thank you for your patience and your support — together, we save species!

One of the great benefits of being a Smithsonian National Zoo Member is free or discounted admission to other reciprocating zoos and aquariums, and in some cases, discounts in their shops. When visiting these institutions, please present your current membership card and an ID. If you have any questions, please contact us or call 202-633-2922.

Full List of Reciprocating Zoos

Please note that participating institutions located in close geographic proximity to each other are not required to offer free or discounted admission to each other’s members in order to participate in AZA’s Reciprocal Admissions Program; for this reason, the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute does not reciprocate with The Maryland Zoo.

This list is updated throughout the year by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Participating organizations may be added or removed, and reserve the right to offer different admission discounts depending on the season or special activities taking place, so it is always a good idea to call ahead.
