Smithsonian’s National Zoo staff will be available to discuss the recent giant panda cub birth.

7 a.m.–8 a.m. Note: Zoo opens to visitors at 8 a.m.

WHERE

Lower end of Asia Trail near Giant Panda Exhibit

The Zoo’s Connecticut Avenue vehicle entrance will open at 6:40 a.m. Media must present credentials to Zoo police stationed at the gate in order to gain entry.

Media parking is located at the top of Lot B. From Lot B, walk into the Zoo, turn right on the main walkway and proceed to Asia Trail (on your left).

All media and crew members must wear face coverings that fully cover their nose and mouth and observe social distancing. Communications staff will manage three media queues for staff that are participating in interviews. Male giant panda Tian Tian will have access to his outdoor yard starting at 7:30 a.m.
