About the Event

Ever wonder what it takes to care for more than 2,200 animals? Join us for a NEW, in-person event at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, where visitors can connect with some of the dedicated professionals who go above and beyond for all the Zoo’s residents

Talk one-on-one with animal keepers and veterinarians, attend feeding and training demonstrations, see and touch animal artifacts, look inside our veterinary ambulance, observe a bird banding demonstration, sample Bird Friendly® coffee, and enjoy family-friendly activities! Meet Zoo scientists and learn about cutting-edge conservation research, gather fun facts to share with friends and get tips on how to help wildlife.
