Coming soon! Friends of the National Zoo is accepting volunteer groups to assist the Smithsonian's National Zoo's gardeners and horticulturists with a variety of projects around the Zoo, including raking, weeding, planting, mulching, cleaning signs and glass, preparing for events, and grounds cleanup. Volunteer groups will be required to perform physical labor in an outdoor setting, rain or shine.

This is a one-day volunteer opportunity. Shifts are available Wednesday mornings from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Application Requirements

Group size should be between five and 15 people.

Training

Training will be provided on the job.

Special qualifications

Volunteers must be capable of outdoor physical activity, willing to get dirty and be able to work in all types of weather.
