Food & Shopping

The Zoo is free, but Entry Passes are required for all guests, including infants.

The Smithsonian's National Zoo offers a variety of dining and shopping options located throughout the park. Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and snacks into the Zoo.

Shopping

Celebrate the joyful legacy of giant pandas Tian Tian, Mei Xiang and Xiao Qi Ji as they prepare for their journey to China! Shop our limited-edition merch collection.

Bring the Zoo home with you! Explore a large collection of clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, books, toys and merchandise at several locations throughout the park.

Gift shops are located inside the Visitor Center, at Panda Plaza, inside the Bird House and near the Great Cats exhibit. Outdoor gift kiosks can also be found throughout the park.

Save Wildlife While You Shop and Eat! At gift shops and dining locations around the Zoo, guests can choose to Round Up for Conservation upon payment. Your purchase will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the spare change will go directly to animal care and wildlife conservation efforts.

Dining

A wild dining experience is easy to find at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. Both year-round and seasonal choices offer a variety of food and drinks that will satisfy whatever craving you have:

Guests can choose from tasty favorites like 100% organic grass-fed beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, vegetarian and vegan burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries and milkshakes made from hand-scooped ice cream. Indoor seating available.

Indulge in a snackable selection of soft pretzels, pretzel dogs, frozen lemonade, Carvel® ice cream and soft drinks.­ Both outdoor locations—the Giant Panda Overlook and Mane Grill on weekends—are open during warmer months.
